OMEGA
Constellation Chronometer
Electronic F300Hz

Bulova created the tuning fork movement with the Accutron, but the purchased the rights and made it RELIABLE and DURABLE!

The Constellation family is one of Omega’s oldest collections, it has been around for almost 70 years. Starting out in 1952 as a chronometer for men, since then it has countless aesthetic transformations.

In 1948, Omega launched the limited edition Centenary to celebrate 100th anniversary, the Omega Centenary Chronometer (observatory-certified chronometer), the first automatic chronometer ever offered by the brand. This special timepiece was so popular that Omega continued producing it in a non-limited version.

The limited edition Centenary was so high in demand by customers that Omega decided to create a new model family of automatic chronometer watches in 1952: The Constellation with an automatic bumper movements chronometer Omega caliber.

By the arrival of quartz, Omega was quick on their feet embracing the quartz revolution and in 1970, the brand presented three lines of watches with quartz calibers, one of these models, the Constellation Electroquartz.

This time, we are offering a special timepiece, one of the top-range Omega models, the Omega Constellation Chronometer Electronic f300 Hz that uses a special tuning fork movement, caliber Omega 1250, date indicator, Swiss made. It has a central second hand that moves around very smoothly, the watch makes a very distinctive humming sound.

This is a stunning timepiece is a vintage Omega wristwatch dated from 1973. Model 198.0075.004, it has 35.4mm diameter (without crown) round case in yellow gold field and stainless steel back. Beautiful silver dial with gold and black hour marks and hands, minute marks as well; it has the Omega logo at 12 and the date indicator at 3. It is coming with a brand new brown leather strap. After 45 years, it is still in LOVELY condition, original crown and OEM crystal. Runs very well, keeps great time. Just SERVICED!

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men's watches typically measure between 29-36mm (some larger, some smaller) wide excluding the crown. In the listing details we typically try to do our best to list all pertinent dimensions of a watch. If you don't see it, or we failed to do so, please reach out to us. Women's watches from the 1900s-1970s were also much smaller than today's offerings. Please also fee free to ask any questions you have pertaining to size.

We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust light when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.

The condition is pre-owned.
The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended and described.
See all the photos, feel free to ask questions if you have any.

It will be carefully packed.
