This is a very cool vintage Waltham Dive Watch hailing from the 1970s!
It is a Swiss manual-wind mechanical movement with 17 jewels and a date complication. It is a caliber 140-1A. Regarding 1A, the 1 indicates the date complication, while the A means it has winding wheels with a finer tooth pitch.
This dial is a very fun teal green color and the bidirectional-rotating base metal bezel is a complimenting forest green. This is not a more common color scheme, which makes it an even more exciting piece to add to a collection! The dial is signed in white Waltham, Incabloc, 17 Jewels, Swiss Made and the Arabic numerals and minute track are also white. The lumes on the hour indices and baton hour and minute hands still emit a faint glow, while the bold orange stick sweep second glows very brightly! The stainless steel case measures 37mm in diameter and 42mm lug to lug. The case is in great condition and still features the original crown, signed W, for Waltham.
Please note that as sometimes happens with vintage wristwatches, the lumes have detached at 9 and 10 o'clock, and have started to separate at 1 o'clock. The crystal also has a slight internal flaw at the 6 o'clock position that is not very noticeable. Despite those flaws, this is still a super cool and attractive vintage dive watch!
This watch is coming on a new black dive strap with a gold buckle.
This vintage Waltham dive watch runs very well and is keeping great time. It will be a unique piece to add to any wristwatch collection.

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. In the listing details we typically try to do our best to list all pertinent dimensions of a watch. If you don't see it, or we failed to do so, please reach out to us. Women’s watches from the 1900s-1970s were also much smaller than today's offerings. Please also feel free to ask any questions you have pertaining to size.
We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust lighting when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
The condition is pre-owned.
The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear but is fully operational and functions as intended. Please review the photos and feel free to ask any questions you may have. It will be carefully packed.
